High Load Capacity (HLC) is a new load standard established by ETRTO. HLC tires are capable of carrying heavier loads at the same pressure as those built to the EXTRA LOAD standard.

This standard was agreed upon by the ETRTO in a general assembly meeting in 2020, and 34 new sizes conforming to the HLC standard will be posted in STANDARD MANUAL 2021.

The HLC load standard was created to meet the demands of electric cars and SUVs, which are heavier than traditional vehicles.

Identification of HLC Tires:

Products that meet the HLC standard must display the HL code with its size designation on the sidewall.

Example of Sidewall Marking:

Extra Load :      245/40 R19   98Y

HLC Tire     : HL245/40 R19 101Y
